New insights into fatty acid biology

July 2, 2020 | Duration: 50 mins.

Fatty acids are more than just the sandwich filling of the plasma membrane. The discovery of pathways that produce ultra-long-chain fatty acids in the skin, acyls esterified to fatty acid tails instead of head groups, and stress-responsive modifications in chloroplast lipid droplets are just a few of the new insights into fatty acid biology that this session will cover.

The talks in this virtual event were originally programmed to take place as an in-person Spotlight Session at the 2020 ASBMB Annual Meeting.
